Yesterday I had to put the love of my life to rest. He was somewhere around 15 years old.

My Dearest Elmo Bear,

Thank you for bringing me so much joy for so many years of my life. You were my world. I miss you so very much. I will miss your loud purr every time I walked in the door. I will miss you screaming at me every morning to wake up and feed you. I will miss lifting up the covers for you to crawl under and curl up next to me. I will miss your head butts on my forehead. Your bad breath, your stinky farts, your adorable scrappy ear. I will miss you being at the door every single time I came home. You were one of a kind. You made people who hated cats, love cats. You changed so many peoples minds.

You will forever be in my heart. I love you so much my Moe.

Yellow and I have a love, hate relationship. I go through phases where I love it and hate it. Today I really dig yellow. Makes me long for spring.

Its been between 0-10 degrees for so many days. Wind chills in the negatives. Tomorrows high is -2 degrees. It's the kind of cold that takes your breath away. Long johns and hot drinks help some, but I'm not sure that I can do another Chicago winter. Oh Chicago, I love and hate you too.

Holy freaking cold batman. It's currently 6 degrees, with a windchill in the negatives. Winter in Chicago is a hard place to be. I do not like it, not one bit. I am looking forward to vacation in Michigan, where at least if it's cold - it's pretty at the same time.

I will be updating the shop throughout the day with new pieces. I am experimenting with adding color to my glass. I think they turned out well. I kinda dig the neon outside my window in some of these photos.

I spent most of the weekend packing and working. In the process of that, of course I had to take a break to capture the cutest thing ever. I can't get enough of that face.

I am almost all packed up (early I know). I'm moving the last weekend of March, my landlord is letting me in early. Woooot. I am so pumped to decorate a new space. I love change.

Still have some things in the bedroom to pack up, but kitchen, living room and bathroom are good to go. In the process of packing up clothes, Elmo makes himself comfy in a pile.

It's supposed to be 44 tomorrow and 50 by Thursday, I'm so excited that spring is on it's way!

It's been a long time, I know. I haven't really felt up to blogging lately. I am happy for a new year, this one will be better than the last - I can feel it.

I had a great Christmas/New Year with the family. Michigan was beautiful with plenty of snow. Back in Chicago and it's currently 62 degrees and thunderstorming. Wonderful! Gotta love a January day in the 60's!

I am currently busy:

:: Getting my tax's ready (shiza!)
:: Redoing my Trudesign portfolio
:: Catching up on freelance design work
:: Getting consignment orders out for Truche
:: Organizing my apartment, getting rid of clothing and items I don't need
:: Studying up on CSS2
:: Focusing on eating healthier and working out more often

Goals for 2008:

:: Focus on Trudesign's business
:: Getting completely and totally organized with accounting and taxes
:: Make my way out of the 9-5 job and into total self employment
:: Find a new inspiring place to live and work

My baby!

So Elmo's ear is messed up again! A couple of years ago he had a blood clot in his ear and had surgery. A few days ago it started to flare up again and I took him to the vet. Had to listen to him scream in the back for 15 minutes while they cleaned out his little ears. It looks awful, and today it was oozing things. So I had no choice but to put a cone on him because he wouldn't leave his ear alone.

My poor baby!

Sorry my posts have been so few and far between. Life has thrown me around lately. Lots of new stuff coming, new ideas. Stay tuned.

In the meantime I've added some Gift Certificates to my shop.

I'm leaving on Friday for Baltimore, the off to the Smokey Mountains. I am very excited, I really need this break.

This Hump Day

Hello again. I'm staying busy with freelance stuff. Nothing new has progressed on an ETA of when I'll be sitting at my coffee table with my laptop. I should know more by the end of the week. I'm very anxious for it to be finalized - so I can plan the next few months.

8 Days until vacation! I cannot wait. This week is going so slow, and next will be even slower! I will be flying to Baltimore next Friday to drive down to TN with my cousin.

What I've Been Up To..

1. I've debated for such a long time. I'm finally quitting my day job as a marketing & graphics director to venture off on my own. I'm so excited, and super nervous. But for sure more excited, eeeee! Working on a proposal to take on my current company as a client... more soon on that. Coffee, Macbook & PJ's here I come.

2. Getting so pumped for the family vacation. It's in the Smokey Mountains this year. I'm working on a binder of all the attractions and a little recap from last year. Elmo of course is in the middle of it. Ghost tours and nature here I come.

3. Sprucin up the place.

4. Listening to Ray Lamontagne, singing at the top of my lungs. Rearranged a bit.

5. New glasses.

Long Weekend is Over...

Went to Philly & New Jersey with JR for Memorial Day, had a lot of fun.

Philly is a wonderful, historical, dirty, energetic city. I love it.

And I got to hang out with some amazing kids all weekend.

In other news, I got a HUGE box of scrap glass in. I'm excited to start cutting!

I'm BACK! I've decided to steer this blog more towards my jewelry and design and less towards my personal life. I've had a nice break, but I'm glad to be back in blogland.

I need a break from you. I feel like me and you have been in a serious relationship for much too long now. I stare at you for 8 hours, then rush home to spend more time with you. Don't get me wrong computer, I do love you - very very much. However, I need to see other things. I mean come on, yesterday for 14 hours straight? Aren't you sick of me yet?

Ok but seriously I do. People on my buddy list are probably like, you've gotta be kidding me, this girl is ALWAYS online. Well yes its true I am, rarely idle, rarely away. The sad part is I can't have a break for a while. I've got quite a few websites in the works, which is awesome - very excited about them. Finishing up amyzane.com right now. Onto project 2,3,4...

At 1am last night when I was finishing up my work, I decided not to go to sleep - instead lets take pics!

It's been such an eventful weekend.

On Friday Louie decided to do a gallery type event for his furniture and asked me to put my jewelry in. The event was super successful - it was at a space on Grand & Oakley. Truche did very well!
